Job Description: As a Supported Living Carer at Sulem Care, you will be responsible for assisting individuals with daily living activities and providing emotional support. You will work closely with our clients to ensure their physical, emotional, and social needs are met, fostering an environment that promotes independence and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, while respecting their privacy and dignity.
  • Administer medications as prescribed and maintain accurate records.
  • Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding as needed.
  • Provide companionship and engage in meaningful activities to promote social interaction and mental stimulation.
  • Accompany clients to medical appointments, shopping trips, and community outings.
  • Monitor and report changes in the client’s health or behaviour to the care team.
  • Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients.
  • Foster a positive and respectful atmosphere that promotes independence and choice.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and support coordinators to develop and update care plans.
  • Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance your caregiving skills.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with clients and their families.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to improve the lives of others.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (training can be provided).
